Serac was founded in 1994 by a small group of mountain guides who had grown frustrated watching under-resourced outfits take on more risk than their logistics could actually support.
The founding principle hasn’t changed since: build the terrain knowledge, medical capability, and honest weather judgment first, and let the guiding follow from that — not the other way around.
Today Serac runs guided programs across six mountain ranges, staffed entirely by IFMGA-certified lead guides, with a standing rule that any guide can call off a summit attempt regardless of client expectations.
